High Sensitivity C- reactive protein, LDL Cholesterol and Liproprotein a blood tests levels were found to be predictive for 5 & 10 yr risk for heart attack, stroke, coronary revascularization or death for women. The mean age of women in the study was 54.7 years and there was a 30 year follow-up. The data supports extending the strategies for the primary prevention of athleroscleotic and cardiovascular disease beyond the traditional 10 year estimates of risk. Interventions support usage of distinct pathways with pharmacologic intervention.
