An August 31,2024 New England Journal of Medicine Article Highlights 3 Blood tests for women that can predict the 5 and 10 year risk of having a cardiovascular incident. This was funded by the Nat'l Institute of Health. We offer these tests to our clients

High Sensitivity  C- reactive protein, LDL Cholesterol and Liproprotein a blood tests  levels were found to be predictive for 5 & 10 yr risk for heart attack, stroke, coronary revascularization or death for women. The mean age of women in the study was 54.7 years and there was a 30 year follow-up. The data supports extending the strategies for the primary prevention of athleroscleotic and cardiovascular disease beyond the traditional 10 year estimates of risk. Interventions support usage of distinct pathways with pharmacologic intervention.  If your health care provider has not suggested screening with these tests, ask for them. Your life may depend on it as cardiovascular disease is the number 1 killer of women!
